A warning? Against me? Little old me?

As a follow up to  previous post: I have inadvertently set up my office in a center of hispanic settlement. So after the first ten years of hardly ever using my spanish, now I get daily exercise. Yesterday a new patient that was directed to me by his coworkers was typically quiet. Not unusual for them, they come from a very formal doctor patient relationship. The fact that I kid around a lot and try to break through that barrier is ( apparently) unusual enough to require a warning. ( To say that my style is informal is to understate the issue. )

“They warned me about you.” He said at the end of the visit. I must have reacted because he added, that  it was a good thing, that it made them feel more comfortable. Nevertheless, a visit to me requires caution?, warning?  girding of the loins? A very odd feeling indeed.
