Wind did that?

A 74 year old lady came in with a face that was blown up with swelling redness cracking and yellow crusting. She was feeling good and did not have any significant health problems.

We had a major snow storm a couple of weeks ago and she was the one who went out and shoveled her driveway, walkway and several cars. She had gloves on but nothing to protect her face. She essentially nearly froze her face off! t\To top it off she waited over a week to come in . What a remarkable lady!

Luckily with a shot of steroids, some antibiotics and some local care she should be fine in no time.

It is all too easy to get carried away when working in cold. It masks any discomfort, numbs the pain and it can be fun to be out in the snow. But it happens to often that instead of coming in when one is tired that you may choose to do that last 30%. We find people in snowbanks that way.
